Powerful shift at London Climate Action Week
In June, Made of Air was honored to be invited by Bloomberg Philanthropies and The Earthshot Prize to attend London Climate Action Week. As one of 30 companies nominated for The Earthshot Prize, we participated in key events like the Breakthrough Energy Summit with Bill Gates and Stories of Impact with Michael R. Bloomberg and HRH Prince William. These events emphasized a holistic approach to climate action, focusing on people and communities over technology. This is a powerful shift away from the helplessness or dissonance that we have seen previously.

A Transformative Lunch in New York
Our CEO, Allison Dring, co-hosted a lunch in New York with our board chair Avra van der Zee, and Shara Ticku from C16 BioScience. The discussion at the investor event centered on the critical need to transition from fossil resources to bio-based alternatives, highlighting the role of investors, technologies, and political frameworks in supporting this transformation.
Made of Air named as Technology Pioneer by WEF
The last quarter Made of Air has also been selected as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. This prestigious recognition places us among the 100 most exciting start-ups globally, underscoring our potential to make a significant impact in materials science. Over the next two years, we will focus on encouraging industries to take more risks with sustainable materials to bring net-zero goals closer.
Getting inspired at the Green Vision Summit
We also attended the first Green Vision Summit in Malta which was a truly inspiring experience. The summit brought together changemakers, political and business leaders, scientists, activists, and UN Ambassadors. It highlighted the tension between global climate initiatives and local government resistance, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and action.

Winning Empow’her’s award in Paris
Our CEO won the "coup de coeur" award at Empow’her’s event in Paris in the previous quarter. This prize includes joining an important network dedicated to women's social and economic empowerment. Empow’her’s mission aligns with our goals, and Allison is honored to be part of such a supportive community.
